It happened several days ago, so I've healed a little, but still mourning. My little buddy Rusty (yes I partially named him after my sona lol) passed away at the ripe age of 15 on Monday, December 30th, 2024. A few weeks prior or so, he'd started developing what seemed like dementia. He'd just freeze in place at times, and we'd have to carry him outside to go to the bathroom and such. On Monday the 30th my older sister took him to the vet, where the vet said he's really suffering and it might be best to... put him down. It didn't even come to that though, as on the car ride back home... he passed on his own. We buried him that same day.

I know I'll heal more over time, but I'll never forget that little booger. He was my buddy, and was always a little pig when it came to any kind of food. XD And my sister and I both swore that he could talk to you, especially after one day we asked "Do you love me?" and he honestly sounded like he went "Mmmhmmm!" His middle name "Puff" is because his previous owners named him that, before we took him in, so we kept it as his middle name.

At least I'll have the memory of him from here on out, and he isn't suffering anymore. RIP to my buddy Rusty and maybe someday I'll see you again when my time comes. Goodbye little buddy...

I was never one of his biggest fans, I'll be honest, but he's done a lot of good as well. This site is a testament to that. Plus no one should have to go through the health issues he had. All the pain and money issues... ugh. Despite how you may or may not have cared for him, he didn't deserve to go through all that. He had mentioned the shit healthcare in this country and his death is proof of that, but I digress.

Hopefully he can rest in peace, and this site will continue to stand in remembrance of him. Rest easy, Dragoneer...

Because last night, I decided to make another slight change to Rusty. Nothing major, but one that'll probably be quite welcomed. He no longer has human-shaped feet, but rather they're now more paw-like in shape! A bit wider, all four toes the same size, the two middle toes are a bit longer, etc. Still no pads, though. But who knows? That may change sometime too.

So I'm sure a lot of people are aware already but as of today, June 24th, 2022, Roe v. Wade was overturned in the United States. For those who don't know, this basically means that women can under no means, abort their pregnancies. Even if they're the victim of rape and don't want to have their rapist's child, or if their baby is going to die anyway due to some sickness.

The people who are running this country think they know better than those of us who actually live in it, and it's sickening. What's more, they're already working on trying to remove other major laws. For example, the law that allowed gay marriage in our country. Yep. They're already trying to undo gay rights. What next? Will women and people of color lose their right to vote again?! Are the racist fucks here gonna try to start a 2nd civil war and try to re-enable slavery?!

I really hope something is done about all of this, I really do. If not, hopefully one of my Canadian friends will be willing to take me in as a roommate because I don't want to live in this country if this keeps up. Something has to be done to preserve the rights of the people, and not those who think they know whats best for us.

Women and LGBT folks don't deserve rights, but it's fine if you want to use a gun to shoot up a school right?!

So recently I came to realize something about myself. All this time, I've identified as bisexual. After talking it over with my partner  rithmalfortele though I came to realize something. It turns out... I'm not attracted to anyone. I'm actually... asexual. For real people.

Now hear me out. This may sound a bit odd or even fake, but this is a real thing. I mostly only get attracted to fictional characters, especially furry characters. I've seen many attractive men and women over my life and had basically no reaction. But with fictional characters, I'm all over it. I drool over characters. Now, that doesn't mean I don't feel any attraction to real people. And in fact, my kinks like my foot fetish still get me going. However, in terms of general sexual attraction, real people usually don't do it for me.

There's an actual term for this I found out, as well. It's relatively new. Fictosexuality. Where a person experiences sexual attraction specifically for fictional characters. It's kind of a form of asexuality, in a way. But only for real people.

So if you feel the term "fictosexuality" is offensive or shouldn't be considered a sexual identity.... Sorry. It's how I really am. You can just view me as asexual with an interest in fictional characters, if you want. I'm Rusty Steele, and I'm fictosexual. Deal with it.

Anyway, seriously, I turned 33 today, May 6th! Shame all this stuff is happening in the world so I wasn't able to do as much to celebrate it. But eh, it is what it is.

I was getting ready to go in to work at Walmart today, only to find out that COVID-19 had finally made its way to my little county in Ohio. We were one of the few counties left that hadn't had a case of it. And now we do.

This was the last straw for me. I've been stressed out due to this already so starting today, I took a 2-week leave of absence from work with plans to return on the 25th. It was stressful enough before. But now, knowing there's a case HERE, was just too much. I just can't do it anymore. I at least need time away to de-stress from this. Hopefully it'll calm down in those 2 weeks too.

Sigh. Welp, guess I'm free for 2 weeks now. Gives me a chance to work on Final Fantasy 6 on Steam. lol

I know I haven't posted a journal in a while. Over a year. So I felt I should just give an update on how I've been doing lately. Been doing okay, more or less. As well as I can be with this COVID-19 outbreak we've had. But I'm okay.

Though that's the thing isn't it? COVID-19, Coronavirus, whatever you want to call it. It's turned our lives upside down. So many people were forced to work from home, if at all. Schools and universities were shut down. Hell, you can't even go out anymore unless you need to buy food or something. And even then, you need to avoid people as much as possible. It's... a crazy time right now.

Especially for those like me who work retail, or other "essential" jobs. It's nerve-wracking. I'm always worried when I see someone I don't recognize. I always think "What if they have it and I catch it?" I've been tempted to quit until the outbreak is over, but... I'm gonna stay as strong as I can, for as long as I can.

At times... I'm scared. I'm scared I might get sick with it and possibly spread it to my family. I'm scared someone I know might get it. I'm scared the world might never go back to the normal we used to know. I'm scared that, if it keeps up, COVID might wipe us all out sooner or later. I'm just... scared. As I'm sure a lot of people are right now. I try to go day by day, hoping for the best, but it lingers in the back of my mind. That this fucking virus is changing the world for the worse.

....Sorry guys. This kind of turned into a vent/rant journal, so I apologize for that. I put that this is a vent journal just in case. I know it's a scary time. It is for everyone. But at the same time I've also seen people doing so much to help those in need. Showing more love for each other since we're all in this together, and that gives me some hope that we'll pull through this sooner or later. Being scared is fine, but I'm not letting it control me and you all shouldn't either. Courage by definition, is not the absence of fear. It's being able to act despite your fear. So let's all find the courage to brave this harrowing time, together.

Okay, NGL, I got it today and played it for about 8 hours straight (granted I took a few breaks but still). I love it already XD

Started the new story mode, World of Light, and got a little ways in. Did several exhibition matches to try out some of the new fighters after I unlocked them, played through some other modes, made a few Mii fighters... It's great. Some nice new touches like giving Mii fighters a voice, the streamlined Final Smashes, the Spirits mechanic is interesting, I could go on.

Really enjoying the new fighters too. Turns out I'm pretty good with Incineroar from what I can tell. Of course I would be good with the sexy firecat pokemon wrestler, right? XD

So most gamers know that the next Smash game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, comes out in December. The reveals have surprised us quite a bit so far. Characters such as Ridley, Simon Belmont, King K. Rool, and Isabelle have already been confirmed for playable fighters and there are probably more to come! Along with every fighter who had been in Smash previously, returning, such as Snake, Wolf, Ice Climbers and more.

So here's a question. Who ELSE could possibly be added? What other fighters could end up being added to Smash Ultimate, either as starting fighters or future DLC?

The paid service for Switch Online starts tonight. And lots of Nintendo fans are ranting and raving about how their free online service is going away and now they have to pay to play Switch online. So here's my response...

I'm sure quite a few on Switch, like me, also have Xbox Live Gold membership. So how is Switch Online so bad but Xbox Gold isn't? I mean, Switch Online is literally 1/3 the price of Gold (Gold is $59.99/year, Switch Online is $19.99/year). So they buy a $300 Switch, games which can cost up to $60, tons of DLC, but a $20 online subscription fee (which could help Nintendo make online stuff BETTER I might add) is going too far?

Would I prefer it stay free? Of course. Am I mad it isn't? No. It just means they can use the money from it to improve online functions and add new ones. As stated above, Switch Online is 1/3 the price of Xbox Gold, and like Gold, has other benefits. Such as access to classic NES games for free, free Cloud Saves, and more.

So people, for crying out loud, stop CRYING OUT LOUD about it! It's not a lot of money and could benefit in the long run.

As of 2:10 am on January 2nd, 2018, I have done it. Done what so few have done before me. I managed to finally beat Cuphead! YES!

MAN that game is aggravating at some points, but its still a good game. One of those games you wanna just keep trying hard to play to see if you CAN win this battle or finish this stage. You will get stuck, spending a good hour or so on a stage, finally beating it only to find it was only 2 1/2 minutes long and you replayed it THAT many times to try to win. Though to me at least, some bosses were fairly easy (Sally Stageplay and Rumor Honeybottoms) while some were a b***h to complete (Damn you Grim Matchstick and Dr. Kahl!).

Guess this is also kind of a review of the game. The classic cartoon style of the whole game was amazingly done with lots of memorable characters and bosses and catchy jazz-style music. Extremely difficult, but fun at the same time. That being said... Now that I finally completed the game, I'm gonna put it down for a while to avoid further potential rage. (i.e. I may never play it again). Beating the story was enough for me.

"But what about beating it on a harder difficulty?" "But what about getting 100% on it?"
But what about NO. The main game as-is was hard enough. Trying to 100% it or play on a harder mode would probably cause me to break the very computer I play the game on. And I like this computer. Its got all my por- ....important documents on it.

Anyway, yeah, go check out Cuphead. Just be warned, unless you're a complete master at games, you will probably rage in some way. But the toughness makes winning SO worth it. :D
